Work and School

Beth had to work tonight. She still doesn't know if she's going to get to keep her job, since she was hired as temporary holiday help. I say it's good because she keeps getting scheduled and she's still getting hours, but they haven't officially let her know whether she's staying or not. It sounds like she'd like to stay, even though working in the fitting room has been pretty boring. She's actually finished reading a book, too! That's quite an accomplishment for Beth. She thinks that if she stays on she'll get to do something else, so that will be nice. Maybe it won't be quite so boring. They're supposed to let her know by the end of the week.

She's already talking about getting all her classes done first semester next year so she can graduate early or at least not have to go to school second semester, so she can work more. There's another option she might be able to take advantage of, which I'm trying to encourage her to do. She might be able to take classes at WCTC, and the school will pay for them. I told her to at least look up the classes she is interested in at WCTC and see how much they would cost if she had to pay for them. I think that would go a long way in convincing her to take advantage of it if she can get the school to pay for them. We may not see eye to eye on everything, but, when it comes to spending money, she can be pretty cheap. I'd certainly rather have the school pay for her classes than for us to have to pay for them!

Class choices for next year are due Thursday - already! - so both the kids have some planning to do.
