Camera Critters (#2)

There's a new meme in town. Our friend Misty has started a new Sunday meme all about pictures of animals/critters, and this is week 2. Click the graphic to visit the Camera Critters headquarters and find out how you can join in. All the post headers, badges and rules are there, as well as Mr. Linky so you can sign in.

Since we're celebrating Passover, I thought some pictures of a cute little lamb would be appropriate. I took these several years ago at Old World Wisconsin, a living history museum we have right on the edge of town. It's really a neat place.
Nearly 600 acres of pristine prairie and lush woodland in the southern unit of Kettle Moraine State Forest provide Old World Wisconsin with an idyllic setting. The largest outdoor museum of rural life in America, Old World Wisconsin portrays the history of immigration and resettlement in late-19th- and early 20th-century Wisconsin.

The lamb I'm cooking for dinner comes from much further away - New Zealand, and I only ever saw that in a package in the store, not looking all cute and woolie like this.

  1. This brings back SO many memories. Hubs and I had a sheep farm before we moved here. We'd have a couple hundred lambs each lambing season. I never ever thought I'd say this, but I really miss the sheep now. Thanks for these great pics and the even greater memories you brought back for me.

The Paschal lamb? I hear that American vegetarians have a substitute: the Paschal YAM.

  10. You will have to share Mr. Lamby's recipe. I tried my first this year, and he was tasty, but always room for new ideas!! Why do they have to look so cute though???

  11. Adorable little lamb. I have a blog I love visiting that belongs to a sheep farmer. Her sheep are all having their babies right now, so there are tons of cute lamb photos. Check it out! The link is on my site, called something like "Losing Our Shirts but saving the farm."

  13. Do you raise the sheep for the wool. When I lived in a nearby town, one of my neighbors raised sheep. He always had numbers spray painted on them which in turn made them look rather ugly.

  15. Yes, sweet and wooly and chops don't seem to fit well together, do they? I bought a raffle ticket from a 4-Her and if we win a lamb of a goat we can have it cut and wrapped or on the hoof. If I win it, I think I might decide to learn to spin.

    Happy Passover.
