Heads or Tails - Manner

Richard Gere playing businessman Edward Lewis,...Image via Wikipedia

Today's theme is:

HEADS - Manner

The first thing I thought of was that part in Pretty Woman where the hotel manager teaches her which fork to use for what. How do you learn table manners if there's no one to teach you?

"I definitely have the salad fork. The rest of the silverware is, a little confusing."

I wanted to include a video of just that part, but I couldn't find one and didn't know how to get just that, so instead I started looking up table manners and found this site - Table Manners in 20 Minutes, which looks like a very helpful site.

  3. There were some cool scenes in that film but the premise was terribly unbelievable, all the same.

I have A chart of good manners up at my place.

  5. I love that scene in Pretty Woman but didn’t think of it myself. Thanks for the reminder and the nifty link to Table Manners in 20 minutes. Isn’t it amazing what’s available at the tip of our fingers at the keyboard these days?

  9. Anna,
You might have noticed that the Photo-A-Day images from The BenSpark have not been showing up for a week now. Something happened to the feed coming from Buzznet. I have been very disappointed in their performance and in an effort to fix the problem as well as cut down the work I do each night to make sure the images get out to everyone I have made a switch to Flickr to deliver the Photo-A-Day images. I have new code on The BenSpark (http://www.benspark.com/photo-a-day) that you can use to update the widget. This should prevent any need to update the code again. I apologize for the lack of images lately and I thank you for hosting Photo-A-Day on your Blog.

  10. I was always told if there are a lot of forks parked beside your plate, just start using them from the outside and work your way toward the plate with each course.
