Looking at the Sky on Friday - 79

I’m so glad there’s a meme like Looking at the Sky on Friday, because it means all the time I spend looking at the sky, and taking pictures of it, has a purpose! Click the badge for more info.

I went out to check the mail the other evening and just had to run back in to grab my camera so I could try to capture this sunset.

I’m sure there’s some kind of scientific explanation for why the sun’s rays were doing that, but mostly I just thought it was cool-looking.  Another reason I like sunsets, besides the gorgeous colors in the sky?  For at least a little while every day, I know which direction is (pretty much) West!  The rest of the time I need a Garmin GPS to tell me which direction is which.  Jeffrey doesn’t understand it at all, but I just don’t have a built-in compass in my head.  Mostly though, I just find myself enjoying the sunset and taking pictures and not worrying about which direction I’m looking.
