Getting An Insurance Quote For Your Horse

Young girl and horses IVThere's a special attraction between little girls and horses. I almost said that all little girls want a horse, but that may not be entirely true. It's pretty close, though. If you have a little girl, you know what I mean. I was certainly one of those girls.

I was quite young when we had a horse and a pony, so the idea of needing insurance for the horse never crossed my mind. However, it really is a good idea. The question is - where do you find insurance for your horse? Here a couple places to start:

Call Your Insurance Provider - The first thing you can do is call your insurance provider. See if you can get an insurance quote for your horse as soon as possible. If your insurance company doesn't offer horse insurance, you can also contact several different insurance companies and try to request a quote from them. Sometimes, contacting multiple companies is better, enabling you to find the best deal.

Look For Horse Insurance Companies - The next thing you can do is look for horse insurance companies. Sometimes these companies offer traditional insurance to people, but their main focus is to provide insurance for horses and other animals. You can find these types of companies online. Be sure to check the search engine ratings and customer reviews. A company with high ratings and good reviews is the Ark International Group. They promise to deliver a horse insurance quote within minutes, and they do their best to provide the country with the lowest insurance rates for horses.

You may not think having insurance for your horse is a big deal. However, your horse can get sick or even get hurt in a split-second. With no insurance, you may end up spending thousands of dollars, so even though you hope never to need it, you will be very happy to have it if something unforeseen happens.

Maybe even as happy as a little girl with her very own horse...

Watch Finding Kind on IndieFlix through May 31 (Giveaway)

In February 2009, two young women, Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson joined forces.  Having both been affected by female bullying throughout their youth, they decided to create change by giving females a platform to speak out about this universal experience. What began as an idea for a documentary about girl-against-girl bullying, ultimately became Kind Campaign, an internationally recognized movement, documentary, and school assembly program based on the powerful belief in KINDness that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl “crime.”

I Was Never a Girly Girl

I was never much of a girly girl.  I never liked dolls or tea parties or dressing up in fancy frilly dresses. I would always rather climb trees and play with Lego with my brothers. Or read.  Books were always better than dolls any day.

I didn't know what to do with my little girl.  She wasn't so much into fancy frilly dresses like these sugar pageant dresses - did they even have dresses like this and beauty pageants for little girls back then?  She did love her dolls, though and liked to cuddle them and dress them.  She was just always more girly than I was growing up.  I'm not sure I even knew what to do with her.

Now she's got a goofy little boy - no frilly dresses for him!  He's cutest in jeans and shirts.  What is it about a little person in jeans that is beyond adorable?  Yeah, even the little girls.  If and when Beth decides to have another kid, I know she'd like a little girl - a little girly girl she can dress up in those fancy dresses, play tea party and baby dolls with.  I keep telling her boys are easier, but maybe that's just my experience.  Come to think of it, maybe a little girl is just what she deserves!

They do say that it's more fun shopping for little girls than for little boys, because of all the cute frilly stuff.  I just never cared about shopping either.  See - not a girly girl.

Cory's Out with some Senior Girls

There was no play practice tonight, so I figured we'd have Cory home with us. No, he got a call from one of his friends. She wanted him to go with her and a couple other senior girls to a game night at one of the girls' churches. I couldn't see any reason to say no to that. So, off he went. He said if he likes it, he might want to go every week. It goes for 8 weeks, I think. It doesn't hurt that he gets to hang out with several of his friends, who just happen to be girls.

No New Wardrobes

Cory told me this morning that since it was Leap Day, that meant the girls could propose to the guys today. If they guys say No, they have to buy the girl a new wardrobe. I told him he better say yes if some girl proposes to him, since he can't afford to buy her a new wardrobe. He can always break it off the next day.

When he got home from school I asked him if any girls proposed to him today, and he said they didn't. I guess he's off the hook and won't have to buy any new wardrobes for the girls.

Good thing Leap Day only comes around once every 4 years.
