How to make a Green Monster Smoothie

Blender!I was just checking my Recent Activity on Flickr and found that someone had used one of my photos in a gallery called How to make a Green Monster Smoothie.  So I clicked to see what that was all about.  It was really cool - like a story in pictures.  I'm thinking I need to try putting together a gallery or two of my own on Flickr.  You know, in my spare time.

I'd like to know if I can actually add some text to a gallery, because even though the pictures are really cool, I still don't really know how to make one of these Green Monster Smoothies.  What would be really great would be if the actual recipe was included.  Think of the possibilities - recipes for cookies, for weight loss drinks (you know, for after you eat the cookies, or maybe instead of the cookies), for simple suppers and fancy dinners, recipes for practically anything.  I could have some fun with this.

In the meantime, I'm thinking maybe I should buy some spinach and start adding that to my smoothies.  I'm not sure my husband would actually drink them, though - if they're green.

  1. A guy at work has lost about 60 pounds or so with green smoothies. He has one of those Ninjas and says that spinach makes up about half of his smoothie. It is what he has for breakfast and lunch, and then he has a reasonable dinner. I don't know what else he puts in it, but you can pretty much use whatever you have around; bananas, pineapple, apple, strawberries, etc. When I make mine I always use apple or grape juice for liquid (or whatever fruit juice I have). There is no need for all the sugar that McDonalds and the other smoothie places put in their smoothies.

Oh, and you can't even taste spinach.

  2. I like spinach, so I wouldn't care if I could taste it. Not too sure about Jeffrey, though - but I sure would love it if we could figure out a way for him to lose some weight. He really likes smoothies. Maybe I could blindfold him so he couldn't tell his smoothie was green?
