What Christmas is All About

and that's why I don't do Christmas and why it bugs me to see people trying to 'Keep Christ in Christmas' - because you can't keep Him in something He was never in to begin with.

That and all the shopping and selfishness and stress and going into debt....  so thankful I don't have to mess with all that and so perplexed as to why people who know better - or at least used to know better - would want to start doing it.

  1. It's all very confusing.. It's what I was bought up to do and somehow feel I have to continue to do despite knowing it's nonsense really and all it is now is a fancy way of making us spend too much on things we do NOT need!

I hate the stress, both financially and otherwise.. I'd like to cancel it, but then I'd be called a Scrooge, so I have to do it.

    Bahh Humbug!

  2. Yes, I can see how it would be hard to get out of doing it when it's something you've always done. It's just kind of expected.

  3. You are crazy, read the HOLY bible and that is the truth and the way , Christ came to the earth and Yes christmas is his birth. To believe other wise is sad. He is the way to eternal life. The day that he returns will be a sad day for those who dont believe. He book Is only to worn us of what is to come. We wont live forever so you better research and figure out what you are gonna do when he is standing in front of you asking why youturned from him. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21)
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:11)
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5:8-9)

  4. Thank you very much for your concern, Anonymous, but I nowhere said that I don't read the Bible or believe in God and Jesus Christ. What I did say is that I will not celebrate Christmas because of its pagan origins.

I choose to keep the Feasts of the Lord, found in the Bible and kept by my Savior. If I claim to follow Him, shouldn't I keep the same Feasts He kept? Do you really think He is honored by pagan practices that have been given His name?

You quoted John 14:16, but you are defending a whole different way that has nothing to do with The Way that Jesus lived and taught. I completely agree with ALL the scriptures you quoted. They, however, have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas or the celebration of Christmas. On the contrary, they say God loves us so much that He sent His Son here to die for us. So we can adopt pagan practices? I don't think so.

Please - do your research. Here's a really good video explaining A LOT. I just don't think Christmas (or Easter or Halloween) have anything to do with God, Jesus, or the Bible. God repeatedly said NOT to worship Him the way the heathen worship their gods, so I choose NOT to.

  5. Please post where you found this comic strip and date of this article Thanks

  6. I actually found this comic floating around facebook, but a bit of research (visiting the web page given at the bottom of the comic) shows that it comes from this article which was posted on December 3, 2011. I hope that helps!

It looks like there are several other really good articles on that same site.

I love your comments! Keep them coming.
