Middle Names

I just realized that both of my kids use their middle names on Facebook. I mean, I already knew that, but I just didn't stop to think about it until tonight. I would never dream of using my middle name on Facebook, or anywhere else for that matter, though I'm pretty sure there's a post somewhere on this blog where you can find my middle name if you want. I just don't really like it. I don't know if I ever thought about it one way or another, until 1st grade or so, when I met a girl who had my middle name as her first name. For reasons I can no longer remember, I did not like that girl, and after that I did not like my middle name either. All these years later, it really isn't very logical, is it? Still, I just don't feel comfortable using my middle name. I do usually use my middle initial, though.

Since Beth and Cory have made it way past 1st grade, and they're still willing to use their middle names publically, I'm guessing they don't have such hangups about their middle names. Either that, or their parents gave them such awesome middle names that nothing could make them not like them. Yeah, that's it.

  1. I have a normal middle name, so I don't mind it. My oldest daughter's middle name was my grandmothers name, barbara, and she doesn't like it. But it means something to me, so that's all that matters, right? lol!

  2. Haha! You make me feel guilty, as I kid I hated my name and told my parents all the time! But now, I like it, and I regularly use my middle name :)
