Does This Light Go with This Railing?

Since Jeffrey has been working in Champaign, he's been able to spend a lot more time with his brother.  It seems Kirk is there at least once or twice a week.  It makes me wonder what he did before!

It's not like they've just been goofing around.  At least not all the time.  They've been busy picking out things for Kirk's house.  He's lived there for several years, and he's getting some improvements done, mainly new siding on the house.  Along with the siding, he's getting new shutters and storm doors and putting new outdoor light fixtures up, and I'm not sure what all.  I really wish he'd post some before and after pictures on facebook!

One night I got a phone call from Jeffrey.  He and Kirk were looking at the light fixtures and wanted to know if they should be black like the wrought iron railings on the front porch, or if they would look OK in some other color, like a bronze.  My opinion was that nobody really pays much attention to what color the lights are, they just see lights, so go with the style you like and don't worry too much about the color.  At least that's what we did when we picked the new light fixtures for the front of the garage and the front and back doors.

We don't have any wrought iron railings to worry about matching, but the light fixtures we really liked only came in one color, and that color wasn't necessarily one I would have chosen - but we loved the style, so we bought them.

Since I'm thinking about wrought iron fences, I'm looking at some of the styles on this website, and I found one I really like -
Actually, there are several I like.  They have all kinds, many of them created by hand.  I'm not sure what kind of railing Kirk has - again, why I need pictures - but I hope the style of the light fixtures goes well with the railings.  I think that's more important than what color they are.

Then again, does anybody really pay that close of attention?  With decorative railings like this, I bet they do.
