Time to Change my Laundry Routine?

I've been doing laundry on Mondays for years.  Why Mondays?  I really don't know, that's just what I started doing, and I've just stuck with it.  I used to get all the laundry washed, dried, folded and put away, except for the towels which Jeffrey would usually fold on Monday nights.  Then, as the dryer got older and things took longer and longer to dry, I found that I didn't have time to get the towels done on Mondays.  So I started washing towels on Tuesdays.  Also, as the kids got older there was more and more laundry to be done!

I suppose that's to be expected with teenage girls - it's amazing how many times one girl can change clothes in one day!  Of course, wearing an outfit for just part of a day does not make it dirty, and those clothes do not need to go into the laundry.  But still, everything seemed to end up in the laundry anyway.  Mostly because everything first ended up on the floor - and it was a whole lot easier to throw it all in the laundry on Monday mornings than to actually put it away.

I'm not sure what the reason excuse was for all the boys clothing that started ending up in the laundry.  Some weeks Cory had probably twice as many t-shirts in the laundry than there were days in the week!  I don't think he wore them all.  And then, there were all his jeans...

Nowadays I'm noticing a huge difference in the size of my loads of laundry.  Beth moved out, and Cory's away at college so he's either doing his laundry there or bringing it home on the weekends and doing it while he's home.  So, when I get ready to do laundry on Mondays, I feel like there's practically nothing to do.  Last week I think I only had two loads, and they weren't even completely full.  I might be able to move towels back to Mondays.  Or maybe I could just do laundry every other week?
