Music and Ice Cream

We just got back from a very enjoyable evening.  It was a night filled with good music, and yes, ice cream too.  The high school choir, jazz band, and jazz choir each performed some really fun songs, and ice cream sundaes could be had for a song.  OK, not a song - for a suggested $2 donation, which was a good deal for a bowl of ice cream with as many toppings as you wanted.

The choir performed first.  They sang a really enjoyable song called Disney Dazzle which is a bunch of Disney songs.  Cory had a solo in this one, which made him very happy - and he did an awesome job.  The boy can sing, and he has so much fun doing it.  Besides the Disney song, they did a Phantom of the Opera medley, a song from Wicked, and some other ones.

After the choir it was time for the Jazz Band to play.  They also did several songs, and Cory played the Bari sax as well as the Soprano - and he enjoyed that quite a bit, too.  Jazz Band is always a lot of fun to listen to.

The Jazz Choir finished out the evening with a few songs, ending with All That Jazz from Chicago.

I wish more people had been there, but the ones that were seemed to have a good time, and it sounds like they'll be planning another one of these music-filled ice cream socials next year.
