Looking at the Sky on Friday - 39

Photobucket

I’m so glad there’s a meme like Looking at the Sky on Friday, because it means all the time I spend looking at the sky, and taking pictures of it, has a purpose! Click the badge for more info.

I’m shocked that I haven’t participated in Looking at the Sky on Friday for two weeks.  Last week we were out of town, so I know what my reason for missing it was, but I can’t remember what I was doing the week before that – looking for online life insurance maybe?

Anyway, on our way to Lexington, Kentucky I took a few pictures as we drove through Louisville.  We’ve driven through a couple times before, both times at night with the lights of the city reflecting off the water and looking so pretty, and both times I did not have my camera out.  This time, I was prepared.  No lights, but a sunset and some nice reflections in the water.

After the first couple shots, it got a little difficult, trying to shoot without catching parts of the bridge, too.

Then, a little further down the road I kind of liked the power lines that got in my way:

If you enjoy skies as much as I do, be sure to check out Looking at the Sky on Friday.

  1. The Ohio River is wide, and a nice place for reflections as it winds from Pittsburgh south. The gray sky seems oppressive, yet the small orb of the sun nearly overpowers the entire sky. The bright over that impressive bridge leaves a wonderful reflection from the steel sun. All are wonderful!

  2. These are really nice. The reflections would work at James's Weekend Reflections meme: newtowndailyphoto.blogspot.com

Thanks for the visit, and happy new year!

Nice captures from the passenger seat, I do the same thing when Ralph is driving. ;-)
