Looking at the Sky on Friday - 43

Photobucket

I’m so glad there’s a meme like Looking at the Sky on Friday, because it means all the time I spend looking at the sky, and taking pictures of it, has a purpose! Click the badge for more info.

I opened the back door this morning to take a picture of the moon – even though it was below freezing out there.  Sometimes you just have to sacrifice, right?  I think I’ll survive, though and won’t have to look at insurance advertising to be sure I’m covered.

I wish I could figure out how to get the detail on the moon as well as the hazy little clouds around it, instead of just a white circle with a little haze.

Any suggestions?

If you enjoy skies as much as I do, be sure to check out Looking at the Sky on Friday.

  1. I can only get good moon shots if I borrow a better camera than the one I own. ~ Calico Contemplations

  2. We've had a ring around the moon the last few nights. The weatherman said that it was from ice crystals forming in the atmosphere or something. It was cool looking but I didn't even try to photograph it. You've done an amazing job here! :)

    Thanks for playing along!

  3. I can never get a decent picture of the moon for the life of me. I tried hard last night (it's below freezing here, too, but it has been for ages, so if I were to let that stop me I'd never get anything done). My camera has a "fireworks" function, so I tried that out, hoping lights in the sky would be clearer and better caught, but nooo. And I thought I had a pretty good camera. I simply don't know how people do it. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Night photography is so difficult. I've taken some moon photos, but they are never as good as I would like.

Sorry I can't help you..I use a Canon point-and-shoot and have fun. No technical info to share.

    thanks for visiting me ;-)
