We Donated Blood

Even though I've been trying to feed him red meat and other things high in iron, when Jeffrey went again this week to try and donate blood, he couldn't.  This time his blood count was even lower!  So, he went to the doctor today because he's been having trouble with his knee for a while, and while he was there he mentioned the low iron, so they're doing some blood tests to figure out what's going on.  He does donate blood regularly, so that might have something to do with it.  I guess we'll see.

Cory and I both donated blood yesterday at the high school blood drive.  Our iron was fine.  And, mostly, Jeffrey and I eat the same thing.

Speaking of donating blood, I usually have them use my right arm because I'm left-handed.  They always tell me it doesn't really matter.  Yesterday, they were set up to use my left arm so I didn't tell them I wanted to change and just went with it.  And I decided that it really does matter.  Usually I really don't notice it at all after I donate, but it bothered me a bit yesterday - probably because that's the arm I use.  It wasn't horrible, but it just felt slightly bruised, and I noticed it.  So, from now on, I'm making sure they take it out of my right arm.
