Aren't We Romantic?

No kids in the house and no plans for dinner. So Jeffrey asked me if I wanted to go out and get something to eat. I know a lot of people would jump at the chance, but me? I'd rather stay home. So I pulled leftovers out of the fridge - macaroni salad with salmon for him and turkey lomein for me. And some salad. It was good. It was easy, and it all needed to be eaten anyway. And, I didn't have to change my clothes and go anywhere.

Really, if the people who worked for restaurants and fast food places had to depend on me for their jobs, they'd all be filing for unemployment. Too often, if we do go out to eat, I'm disappointed. I know I could have done a better job, and it would have cost less. Yes, I know it takes time to cook, but still... I don't really have a big problem stopping to get something to eat if we are already out, but making a special trip just to go eat - I have a hard time with that.

Now, dinner is over. I need to get back to working on the school calendar, and Jeffrey is out mowing the lawn. Aren't we romantic? Just wait, though - there may be banana splits later!

  1. We're not very romantic either. Been there, done that. Too old to do more of it. Okay, not too old, but no need to go out and try to be romantic. A good night for us is playing yahtzee for a while. Then he goes back to cutting grass and I go back to work.

  2. We never go out to eat but often eat out when we are town. It would be nice to have the option though.

  3. So far, most of our romantic-relaxing times are drinking hot coffee and watching movies (mostly comedy or drama) at home when the kids have already slept!

  4. Romance to me and John is being able to sit together on the couch while watching TV. LOL

  5. I always jump at the chance to eat out! I find it so much easier than preparing something.

The banana split sounds yummy! I hope you had one!?

I have an award for you on my rantings blog!
