22 Years Ago Today

I married my best friend. I still kinda like him. :P

It doesn't seem like 22 years. Where does the time go?

Only 28 years to go... Yeah, when we got married, we said we'd give it 50 years. After 50 years, if we decide it isn't working for us, we can go our separate ways, no questions asked.

We were watching that new Carrie Underwood video this morning - Last Name, where she gets all crazy in Vegas and marries this guy she doesn't even know. It got me to wondering why they actually let people get married like that on the spur of the moment. I said they should at least have to wait a day. Jeffrey said they should have to take a breathalyzer test. Most tattoo places won't ink you if you've been drinking, so you'd think there'd be some standards when it comes to marriage. Then I realized that, in today's society, a tattoo is a whole lot more permanent than a marriage. Sad, really.

  1. Congratulations! Our 25th was last month. It seems there are too many of us around anymore....those who stick it out for the long haul. Hope you had a great day!

  2. Happy Anniversary! I asked Amber if she wanted to call you and tell you happy anniversary, and she said, "Not right now."

    Love you!

  4. Congratulations!

We bought a sampler bottle of whiskey shortly after our wedding and decided to save it for our 50th anniversary. Some where along the way at a point of desperation the bottle was opened and the whiskey was rubbed on a teething child's gums. Another 15 years and we'll make it to 50.....

I'm impressed with the comment about tattoos being more permanent that some marriages.

    too true.
