Another Play

After last week/weekend of attending Cory's play 5 times, I was about played out, but a couple of his friends go to another school and their play was this weekend. So, Saturday night we went to Culver's for dinner and then to the play at their high school. We thought it would be interesting to see how another school does, and Cory wanted to be there for his friends. Neither one of them had very big parts, but they appreciated Cory's being there.

The school is bigger than ours, and instead of having to perform in the gym, they have an actual auditorium. It would certainly be nice to have one of those. Of course, even if somehow our school could manage to afford one or raise the funds, it wouldn't be ready in time for Cory to benefit from it. None of the actors used microphones, but the acoustics in an auditorium, as compared to a gym, let them be heard - at least from the front row. The set was also amazing, solid walls, real stairs, etc. Of course, they actually have a stagecraft class in that school, and started on it way before our kids started working on theirs. Our kids did everything after school and basically built the entire set in a week. They really do a good job with what they have.

It was an enjoyable evening and a good night's entertainment. They did Don't Drink the Water, which I had never heard of or seen before, and they did a really good job.

  1. That's cool that you all went to support friends. My son was never into theater or music once he left middle school but I do fondly remember all the sports activities. Freeze during football, boil during baseball :)
