We had a couple little visitors outside the back door the other day. Tillie was very interested. I did my best to get some pictures, through the screen and without getting too close or moving too much to scare them away. I got one picture that would have been really good because he was even looking in my direction. The only problem is that it was blurry! Oh well.
Isn't he cute, though? Of course I know nothing about birds, so I don't even know what kind he is, but I really like his little red head. I find it interesting that with birds, the males are usually prettier than the females. I didn't get any pictures of his little mate, but she doesn't have the red on her head. She's still cute, though.
Sitting very quietly, right inside the back door:
OK, this picture was taken at a different time, when I was outside and Tillie wanted out too. She wasn't exactly being quiet then, because she wanted me to take pity on her. But, basically the birds were right outside this door and down a step in the rocks, really close.
