Windows Live Writer Died

Sometimes I uses Windows Live Writer to write my posts. I especially like it when I want to post pictures because I really like the Polaroid Picture plug-in.

Last weekend when I was trying to post my Camera Critters post, Windows Live Writer kept giving me an error message. No matter what I did, I couldn't post to Blogger. I ended up posting my Camera Critters post to my LiveJournal and then copying it over here. Not a perfect solution, but at least it worked. Then, since I don't use WLW all the time, I didn't try it again - until tonight - and it still doesn't work. I keep getting the stupid error message:
The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

What is that supposed to mean, and why is it doing that? Their help file is no help. Is anyone else having this problem? Did you figure out how to fix it? Help!

EDIT: This is an attempt to edit my post with Windows Live Writer, to see if that works.

  1. Hi, I'm a developer on the Windows Live Writer team--I can help you with this. Please e-mail your log file (Help | About | Show log file) to joe.cheng *AT* Also, I'd be curious to know whether it happens for new posts or only when you're editing an existing post.

    Thanks and Merry Christmas.

  3. Hey, after reading your post, I actually decided to try Live Writer. I hadn't heard of it before, but figured, why not? I looked at it for a while before I uninstalled it. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't figure out how it gave me any benefits, and it only seemed like it would be more work to blog with it. I like uploading my photo in the process of blogging, but I had no clue what would happen with my photos using Live Writer.

Good thing it didn't cost money to try it.

  5. Hi PPPhoto, it's actually quite a bit easier to insert and upload images using Writer. When you're done with your post and you hit Publish, Writer will do the uploading for you. You have much finer control over the size, position, and appearance of your photos when using Writer than just Blogger alone. This video may help:
