My Winter Exercise Program Has Started

It's called Shoveling the Driveway.

It is December, and we do live in Wisconsin, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. This happens to us every year. We should have expected it. You know how we had such horrid traffic coming home from Kentucky on Sunday? That wasn't all. As we got closer to home, we ran into snow. I'd like to think that if the traffic hadn't held us up, we could have missed the snow, but I guess we'll never know.

Monday the kids didn't have to go to school because of the snow, and that's when I realized it was December 1st, and it was at least the 3rd year in a row we got a major snow storm on December 1st. We really should have known better than to plan on traveling home the night before. Of course there would be snow.

The kids and I shoveled the driveway Monday after the snow stopped. Beth complained and threatened to quit saying it wasn't her driveway. I pointed out that she drives on it, and that makes it her driveway, and if we all work together, we'll get done sooner. She stuck with it, and it didn't hurt her one bit. Today it snowed again, and I shoveled the driveway before Jeffrey came home. By myself. I should have made Cory help me, but he told me it wasn't very deep when he came home from school, so I wasn't expecting much. By the time I got out there and realized there was quite a bit, it seemed more trouble than it was worth to come back in and get Cory, so I shoveled it all myself.

And now I'm sore. But it's a good sore.
