The Light at the End of the Tunnel

I think we just might be finished with this calendar. Hopefully, we will get it to the printer tomorrow and I can have my life back. We've got enough ads and sponsors to pay for it (Yay!), the editing is done, and I just have to place the ads and list all the sponsors on the back cover. That doesn't sound like much, does it?

Seriously, every year this project seems to take longer and longer. Maybe it really doesn't, because I'm horrible at keeping track of the actual dates and times, but sometimes I think I'll be on medicare insurance before I get this thing done.

Mary has worked on this project 8 years, and this is my 7th. And this is our last year. We are just burnt out and tired of it. It's a lot of work, for no pay. I believe it's a good and worthwhile project. Someone else just needs to do it for a while - or maybe it won't get done at all. I guess we'll see.

  2. Glad to hear you are almost done. I bet it is a huge relief. You were working on it a couple months ago when I started reading your blog : )

  3. I would think it is time for someone else to take over. What is the calendar for?

  4. lynn - It is good, finally! It wouldn't take quite so long if we could just get everything we need when we need it, but there's always the waiting - waiting for dates, waiting for ads, etc. Then, during the waiting, I try to get things caught up (like that's gonna happen!?) because when we get stuff it's like we have to drop everything and take care of it now.

karen - It is definitely time for someone else to take over. We thought about quitting a couple of years ago, but then didn't. It's for the school district, and we really think it's a worthwhile project - and if we don't do it, it doesn't get done. The district says they'll get someone to take over next year, maybe some students, which would be great on several levels. We'll just have to wait and see how that goes.
