Roller Coasters!

I love this view:

Jeffrey and I love Theme Parks, just for the roller coasters. We never go on anything that spins us in circles or waste our time on anything tame. Our kids must belong to someone else, because they don't like roller coasters. Well, actually, my dad never liked roller coasters, so I guess they're related to him. I think it would be so much fun to visit as many theme parks as possible and ride every roller coaster imaginable. Of course, we'd have to leave the kids at home.

The U.K.'s oldest theme park, Pleasure Beach in Blackpool, has some rides that I wouldn't mind trying. There's one called the Pepsi Max Big One - '235ft high and over one mile of twisting and turning at speeds of up to 87mph.' Unfortunately the video was a little choppy, so I didn't get a feel for the speed, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to try it in real life. They have quite a list of what they call Major Rides, and most of them look like fun, but I'm going to have to pass on Bling. It looks like too much spinning for me - that makes me feel sick. They also have a wooden roller coaster that World record roller coaster marathon rider Richard Rodriguez rode for an incredible three months non-stop, day and night! I'd be happy if I could just ride it 3 or 4, or 5 or 6, times in a row without waiting in line again. Do you think they'd let me do that?

They also have Family Rides at Pleasure Beach, but I didn't check them out. Like I said - we go for the roller coasters.

  1. I used to LOVE coasters...and now...I won't go near them...Did I outgrow them??? Who knows??

    The Egel Nest

  2. I am not one to go on rides especially roller coasters but they sure do look like fun! Too bad I'm a chicken.
I think I will have to brave them soon, with the kids getting older and a trip to Disney planned I could be in for a few rides.

Great post :0) I did this one also...

  3. I used to love going on rides when I was younger, now that I'm old they make me puke :o(

I love your comments! Keep them coming.
