My Kids Need More Sleep

According to this story on GMA this morning, our kids are not getting enough sleep. Teens are supposed to get 8.5 - 9.5 hours of sleep a night. Yeah, try convincing my kids of that. Bed times are always a hassle. As they get older, they think they should be allowed to stay up later, and bed times keep getting later. Of course, that translates into the parents going to bed later, too, and I could really use some more sleep! Morning comes way too early.

The story said that 15 minutes of sleep lost a night can turn an A student into a B student. Really? That wouldn't be any incentive to Beth, since she doesn't seem to care about grades all that much - except that it will save her some money, considering that her dad said he'd pay her car insurance if she maintains a B average. Cory might appreciate getting more sleep, but he has a hard time sleeping while everyone else is still up and making noise.
