I originally started my blog because I saw someone else's blog, and I liked the design. I wanted one just like it, and it was free, so I signed up. Now, of course, I don't want my blog to look like anyone else's, and I know there's more to blogging than just having a pretty page.

Recently I found out that I could get paid to blog. Imagine that - I get to look at websites and products, post my opinion, and I actually get paid for blogging! I figure I'm already all over the Internet looking for good stuff anyway, so why not get paid for it?

This week I submitted this blog to Smorty and just got approved. Smorty is a service that brings advertisers and bloggers together. Advertisers want bloggers to write about their services and link to their sites. Smorty emails qualified bloggers (yeah, that would be me!) letting them know about the ad campaign. (I really like the idea of having them email me when something is available that I qualify for.) The bloggers write and submit their opinion posts, and get paid for blogging - every week. Sounds easy, right? It is - go check it out.

  1. I have seen so many people doing this kind of thing and I am tempted, but also afraid I would feel pressured.

I have looked at the sign up page for this and I see you need a paypal... hmm another thing to sort out first... I'm definitely thinking about it anyway!

  2. I probably should have pointed out that there really is no pressure. You only accept the ones that you want to write about. There are no minimums or requirements. So, see - no pressure - just the fun of making a little extra money for something you are already doing anyway - and I've found some really interesting sites and products. Smorty is new to me, so I don't know what I will find there, but I've been doing PayPerPost since the end of February and have really enjoyed it. I'm just going to be selfish here - if you do decide to do the PayPerPost thing, then please, please, please click the badge on my sidebar - (or use this link) - then I get credit.

I love your comments! Keep them coming.
