Watching Movies

We're sitting her watching a movie, The Prestige, which we've seen before, but Cory grabbed it from the library yesterday. It must be the night for movies about magicians, because we just finished watching The Illusionist. Sometimes we take it for granted how easy it is to watch movies nowadays. Back when Jeffrey and I were dating, and when we were first married, we used to watch movies on the weekends. Back then we had to rent a VCR and a bunch of movies. We'd spend all weekend watching as many movies as possible, sharing them with my family before we got married. A few years after we got married we bought our first VCR. This was when I started kicking myself for not letting one of our friends videotape our wedding. Talk about planning ahead - we didn't think we'd ever be able to watch it.

Now we own at least two VCRs, three DVD players, four TVs, and I don't know how many movies - both on video and on DVD. You'd think there'd be at least one lcd mount in there somewhere, wouldn't you? Any time we want to watch a movie, we can grab one, pop it in, and watch it. It's hard to imagine that there are times when there is just 'nothing to watch' when we have so many choices. Yep, we're spoiled.

  1. It seems like the only movies I get to watch lately are cartoons with Aidan or horror movies with Aurora.

  2. I don't usually get to watch my "kind" of movies because all the guys in the house reign supreme over the tv, and I, the computer. I recently watched "Joshua" a few days ago and it was okay I guess. Weird ending though. Hope your staying warm up there in Eagle, I'm in Racine and we are freezin' !
