Heads or Tails - First or Last

Today it's HEADS - First
*or* TAILS - Last

I rolled over this morning and looked at my clock with blurry eyes. The time was 5:44am - 1 minute before the alarm was to go off. Every morning (well, almost) my alarm goes off first. Jeffrey's goes off shortly after mine. I roll out of bed, and up until last week, he would simply hit the snooze button and stay in bed. Last week he started getting up with me and walking with me. It wasn't an ideal first week to start walking, but he did it. We only ended up walking together two days out of the week because he had to go to Baraboo one day - that's when his alarm goes off first, because he has to leave the house by about 5:30am. Another day the wind chill was 25° to 30° below, so neither one of us went walking, and another day we had to shovel the driveway, which, by the way, is still exercise. I don't think he needs to be as skinny as he was when I first married him, but I'm happy he's decided to work on trimming down and getting in shape. And, it's kind of nice having him to talk to in the mornings.

  1. 5:44am? Yikes!

I do a lot more walking when the weather is warmer and I try to do it when hubby can join in and keep me company. It's a nice quiet time away from computers and TVs.

  3. I am NOT a morning person - nope, I'll take my walks in the afternoon and evening ;-) That's why you always see sunset photos from me rather than sunrise LOL

It's great that you two are walking together - you'll have some alone time, you'll lose some weight, and walking is excellent for your cardiovascular system and health!

  4. Good for you to have the resolve to go out an exercise no matter what.

  5. skittles - I started walking in the mornings almost 15 years ago with some of my neighbors. We waited until spring to start, but I've been walking almost ever since. If the wind chill gets below -20° I stay in!

misty dawn - A lot of my pictures are sunrises - taken after I get back from my morning walk. :P

cablegirl - All except for -20° wind chill!

note to self: don't select the Nickname option and then forget to fill anything in!

  6. I can't imagine going walking at that time. I am mostly still snuggled in bed.

  8. I'm jealous. Poor Hubby often doesn't come to bed 'til 4am & only gets up before I leave if he has to go to work early. & at night, he comes home about 1 hour before my bedtime. We try to make the most of our 1 day a week, though.

  9. I wish my husband would get up and walk with me.

And to answer your question, there are 2 other brothers between my husband and the oldest. They're all his half brothers. They're 10, 15 and 20 years older than him.

  10. I think that would be heaven on earth: somebody to walk with. You are so very fortunate.
