Eye Exams

The kids had their eye appointments this morning. The injustice of it all, having to be out of the house by 8:45am on a non-school day! Cory got up without too much protest, jumped right in the shower, and got ready. Beth, on the other hand, didn't get moving. She did manage to make it out of the house, but she didn't get a shower, and she didn't eat breakfast. She was putting her makeup on in the van. Don't ask me what she needed makeup for, and she herself was wondering why she bothered when those eye drops went in.

Beth's pressures were both 14, and Cory's were 14 and 16, though I don't know which eye was which. The doctor said that their eyes looked really good and healthy, which is exactly what we want to hear. The insurance probably won't cover any of the exams because a family history of Glaucoma isn't enough of a reason - or something. They'll only pay if there's actually a problem, which there isn't, so they put both down as routine vision exams. If we wanted a routine vision exam, we'd go to Walmart or Stein Optical or something. I'm going to have to pick one of those and get an eye exam myself one of these days.

  1. I just made an eye appointment for my daughter. We kept putting it off because we never had extra money to pay for it. Come to find out that in this province we just moved to they are free for kids 9 and under! Sure helps us out a lot...

I am glad to hear that the eye exams went well.

    take care
